The Foundation

The Eastern Madera County Foundation is a project-based organization with a mission to unite the mountain communities of eastern Madera County to enhance community programs and infrastructure, preserve historical and cultural assets, and support commerce for the betterment of the communities and tourism.  It services all of Eastern Madera County, regardless of membership in a Chamber.

The Foundation was started many years ago by the Oakhurst Chamber to be able to accept grants for projects. The Chamber Alliance, made up of representatives from the four mountain chambers, merged with the Foundation in 2021 to revitalize both groups since each of their missions aligned.

The group is made up of the 4 mountain chambers, visitor bureau, and a community member from each of the 4 main towns (Oakhurst, Coarsegold, North Fork and Bass Lake), plus 2 At-Large members. The group meets once a month to take on projects and apply for grants that help each community - therefore the mountain area as a whole.

Some of the most recent projects The Foundation has supported include...

  • Oakhurst Community Park upgrades and repair
  • Fresno Flats Historic Society Museum repair
  • Nature of Wildworks facility upgrades
  • Oakhurst River Parkway Trail clean-up

....and more!
